October Update

Hello everyone!

We took a bit of a hiatus over the summer but Bound and Drawn life drawing sessions will return. We currently are looking at new spaces to use in Burlington that are artist-friendly and suitable for the sessions.

If you have any questions or would like to make a space suggestions, please get in touch!

Also, tomorrow Saturday, October 5th MBE is happening during Nuit Blanche. The folks at MBE have been so incredibly supportive of Bound and Drawn and many riggers and models that have come out for our sessions are involved in the event. Check it out here:

Knotty Life Drawings

Yes, of course I went there with the silly puns.

I just realized that we forgot to update the blog for our latest edition of Bound & Drawn which happened this past Wednesday.  (In case you're wondering they happen the second Wednesday of each month)

We had a fantastic rigger in the house that night - Morpheous.  You can find out more about this witty gentleman right here:

And we were graced with the delightful presence of Shayne, who was equal parts witty and crude; which of course made her awesome.

Here are some of my pieces of sketchiness from the event:

Our next Bound & Drawn Captured Life Drawing Session runs on Wednesday May the 8th!

I should also mention that the price is now just $20

Monday, March 18, 2013

Wow, we had such an absolutely amazing demonstration of self-rigging at our event this past Wednesday.  The creative energy shared throughout the room was amazing and ve-ra was riveting.

Our next session is coming up on the second Wednesday of April, the 10th.  It's at the Queen's Head Pub in Burlington, Ontario at 400 Brant Street.  New for this session, our pricing has been adjusted to $20!

Here are the drawings that I created:

As always, I would love to post the artwork of our attending artists, so please drop me an email!  Thanks once again to MBE for their support!

Marching Along

We had so much fun at last month's Bound and Drawn session, we thought we would do it again!

Actually, we plan on hosting Bound and Drawn sessions once monthly on the second Wednesday of each month.

All artists (19+) are invited to come out and join us.

It is interesting, dynamic and not your usual life-drawing sessions. It is a warm and friendly bunch that has gathered so far and we do our best to make everyone feel welcome. If you have any questions please drop us a line:

Here are March's details:

Bound and Drawn: March 13th, doors open at 7pm. The session starts at 7:30pm and runs until 10:30pm at the Queen's Head Pub

This event would not have had the traction it does, without the help and support from the great folks at MBE

Ropes this month are being provided by the very talented self-tying Vera!

Vist Vera's blog to learn a little bit about her:

Bound and Drawn: Life drawing sessions are not your typical life drawing session. We're combining ropes, rope artists, and visual artists - it's an interesting blend. The wonderful riggers put together a great show and interact with the audience. It also becomes a bit of a rope tying showcase as we watch deft hands twist and tie knots to create intricate displays of flesh and emotion.
Last month, we had a few surprises, so its best to come with an open mind as you'll never quite know what to expect.

Our goal is to encourage the technique of life drawing but also the exploration of the human form. We like to encourage freedom in all forms, sexually speaking and otherwise.

The phrase “To be so free one can choose bondage” is an endearing philosophy.

Please come with drawing supplies in hand.

Rules are no photography, no videography, and must be 19+

Untying Session One

The very first night of "Bound & Drawn" Life Drawing Captured sessions went off this past Wednesday.  We had a lovely turn-out of people interested in catching life in ropes on paper.

The atmosphere was warm, friendly and inviting.  Fun conversations popped up, and the people of the Queen's Head Pub were brilliant.

Our fantastic performers for the first event were Cylr and Beth.  There were some very interesting knots, positions, and suspensions!  Cylr was quite the deft hand with the rope and Beth was marvelous in her ability to remain tied up while we artists scribbled away.

Many thanks and appreciation to MBE who have been incredibly supportive by helping us promote this new event, providing us with direction and connecting us to performers.

To all of our artistic friends, please send in your artwork and I'll post it up on the blog.

Presenting some drawings that were created by me:

Why Burlington? And I'm Not An Artist But...

We are looking forward to our first Bound and Drawn session, taking place on February 13th, at the Queen's Head Pub, at 400 Brant street in Burlington Ontario.
The response to this idea has been so positive and great! Thanks so much for all the interest and support. We especially would like to thank MBE who has worked with us in providing advice, helping us promote and directing us to a rigger.
Two questions have come up and over and over that we would like to address.

Q. Why is this in Burlington! Everything else is in Toronto?!

We happen to think Burlington is a great city.
Besides that, we did consider hosting this event in Toronto but as the questioner often points out, everything else is in Toronto. We thought it would be good to have something like this around these parts. It made sense to us, considering a lot of other edgy-life-drawing events have come to a close in the fair city of Toronto and hardly anything like this happens out this way--a strong reason why we decided to host Bound and Drawn in this community.

Q. I'm not an artist but I am a writer, a sculptor, a creator or just interested in rope. Why can't I come?

We are considering expanding the format for future Bound and Drawn sessions but as it stands now, this event is geared to figure drawing and open to those who show up with art supplies, with the intent to draw/paint/create in hand.

Q. Okay. You convinced me. I'm going to come in from Toronto. How accessible is it by GO?

The answer to that is that it is very accessible.  One of the reasons that we chose the Queen's Head Pub on Brant Street as a venue is it's proximity to the Burlington GO Station as well as Burlington Transit.  The GO train regularly stops at the Burlington station and from there you can catch the #2 Brant South bus, or take the twenty minute walk.  Here's the link for GO

Thank-you for visiting us.
We are thrilled to be coming at you with Bound and Drawn.
“To be so free one can choose bondage” is a philosophy we find quite gratifying.

Please feel free to view the Welcome and the Event Information and About Us pages.

If you don't want to read all of that, here are the crucial facts.

Bound and Drawn: Life drawing sessions that are a far cry from the traditional. It is a little bit production, the spirit of a show and a place where the artist has a chance to draw and take inspiration from interesting and dynamic poses with a strong air of the erotic. We encourage the exploration of the erotica through the human figure and the art of shibori.
The sessions take place on the second Wednesday of each month, starting on February 13th (7:30pm to 10:30pm, doors open at 7pm) at the Queen's Head Pub in Burlington Ontario--we are in the banquet room.
The cost is $25 at the door, no refunds.

The rules:
No video or photography of any kind and please turn your phones off.

No food please we're at the Queen's Head Pub so if you would like to get something to eat before or after, you can just go upstairs!
No drawing supplies in hand, no entry.

The point?

We would like to encourage the expression of art of the female and male form, weaving into explorations of the erotica, in a positive and friendly environment. We dare artists to go deeper, to perfect their techniques but also expand the desires of their imaginations. We see this as an event that is part of the wider community and not to repeat ourselves but "To be so free one can choose bondage" is something we really do find quite gratifying.

All of our sessions are held in an environment without judgement--share your work if others if you like or keep it to yourself.
